Former president George W. Bush is quite the talented painter. Some of his works are on display featuring leaders from all over the world at the George W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum.

The exhibit is titled ‘The Art of Leadership: A President's Personal Diplomacy’, which is running from April 5 through June 3, 2014.

Bush elaborated on his decision to paint world leaders stating ‘I place a high priority on personal diplomacy. Getting to know a fellow world leader's personality, character, and concerns made it easier to find common ground and deal with contentious issues. That was a lesson I had picked up from Dad, who was one of the great practitioners of personal diplomacy.’

His featured works include former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, the Dalai Lama and Vladimir Putin.

The paintings are being accompanied by real life photos, artifacts and Bush’s reflections and interactions with the leaders. Bush, who took up painting in 2009 after leaving the office, says he’s a little shy when it comes to publicly showcasing his artworks, but pointed out he wants to ‘refresh’ the Bush Center.
