A 3-year-old little girl was recently diagnosed with an eye disease after her mom’s Facebook friends commented that something may be wrong.

It all started when Tara Taylor posted a picture of her child, Rylee on the social media site. Tara just wanted to share the adorable photo as Rylee had done her hair by herself, but two of the proud mom’s friends noticed something else in the image.

In Rylee’s left eye was a whiteish circle. Tara elaborated on the Facebook comments that expressed concern.

She stated “They said 'Hey, I'm sure it's nothing. It's probably the lighting, but your daughter's eye is glowing and you might want to have it checked out because it's a sign there could be an issue with her eye.”

Tara took the advice seriously and brought her child to a pediatrician and retina specialist. Sure enough, Ryle was diagnosed with Coat’s disease, which can often lead to severe eyesight loss or blindness if it’s not treated early enough.

Rylee is now undergoing eye treatments every few months to maintain her vision. Tara is very grateful for her Facebook friends who pointed out the problem that could have easily gone undetected.
