A couple in Nashua, New Hampshire got a not-so-pleasant start to their honeymoon because of a ring that fell into the toilet.

Typically, honeymoons are a time of sheer joy for newlyweds. However one couple in Nashua, New Hampshire got a not-so-pleasant start to their honeymoon because of a lost ring.

Stephen and Natalie Marcotte had been headed to Aruba via a JetBlue flight. At some point after takeoff, Stephen began tinkering with his ring, as he wasn’t accustomed to wearing jewelry.

Stephen said the ring felt a little too tight so he went in the plane bathroom shift it around a bit. He managed to get it off, but it slipped out of his hand and fell into the toilet.

Stephen realized he wasn’t going to retrieve the ring without help so he informed his new wife of what happened. Obviously, Natalie wasn’t happy.

After some of the shock and anger wore off, the couple asked plane staffers for assistance.

They sealed off the bathroom and started the hunt. Gloved hands were stuck down the toilet. When no results came from that, the copilot reviewed a diagram of the lavatory to think up different ways to retrieve it.

All the efforts proved to be futile. Unfortunately the ring was never found. The newlyweds went on their honeymoon and replaced the ring upon their return back home. Stephen vows never to take his newest ring off.
