Babies, as delicate as they may seem, can often survive the unthinkable. An infant recently lived through a horrific rollover crash that occurred in Alpine east of San Diego.

The baby had been strapped inside a Jeep at the time of the accident. That vehicle plummeted down a 150 foot embankment before crashing to the ground.

The driver slammed on the brakes when approaching a slow moving car on the road and immediately lost control of the auto.

The Jeep rolled off the highway and plunged down the embankment below. Three passengers were inside the vehicle including the baby, a 22 year old woman who reportedly was the driver, and a 21 year old male.

Tragically the lady was killed. The male was rushed to the hospital and his injuries are listed as life threatening. The one-year-old infant had been safely contained in a car seat and was amazingly uninjured.

California Highway Patrol deemed excessive speed as the cause of the accident.
