A man in North Carolina recently killed a long sought after hog. The reason why the animal was so desired among hunters is because it weighs 500 pounds.
A man in North Carolina recently killed a long sought after hog. The reason why the animal was so desired among hunters is because it weighs 500 pounds.
Actually it could be even heavier, as the hog caused a tobacco weighing scale to max out. Its head and shoulders didn’t even make it on the scale.
"Eight feet long and weighing in at more than 500 pounds, this massive wild hog still didn't stand a chance against veteran hunter JettWebb." [WNCT]
Perching himself high up on a tree stand and armed with a .308 caliber rifle, Webb was successfully able to take the hog down from less than 100 yards away.
Webb had spent about a month searching for the hog. Said Webb “It was very surreal...It was very humbling to say the least, when you walk up on a beast that big and you say, 'Oh my gosh. I had no idea that there could be something that big running around the woods of Eastern North Carolina'”.
Trail cameras first captured the beastly hog in 2011. Up until its recent demise, members of the White Oak Ranch Hunting Club had been scouring the woods and hoping they would be the fortunate ones to find it.
Webb plans to use the hog meat to make sausage for the next year or so.
