Triple-Amputee Security Guard Narrowly Escapes Being Run Down by Vehicle

A triple amputee in Houston is thankful to be alive after a man tried to intentionally run him over. The victim, 47-year-old Joseph Montemayor lost two legs and an arm in a train accident from his childhood.


A triple amputee in Houston is thankful to be alive after a man tried to intentionally run him over. The victim, 47-year-old Joseph Montemayor lost two legs and an arm in a train accident from his childhood.

The recent incident went down at an apartment complex in the city. Montemayor lives in one of the buildings and works on the grounds part time as a security guard.

He jumped into duty mode when he recognized a man who is not welcome on the property due to a previous complaint. Montemayor quickly snapped a photo of the male’s license plate.

The unwanted man, identified as 20-year-old Jacaree Keith, was inside his vehicle when saw the camera’s flash. He allegedly slammed the gas pedal, jumped a curb and barreled right towards Montemayor.

In the nick of time, Montemayor wheeled himself out of harm’s way. Keith then allegedly got out of his car, and spewed verbal abuse at Montemayor threatening to break his neck and kill him.

Police arrested and charged Keith with aggravated assault. The complex is home to the elderly, handicapped and disabled. Residents spoke about how they’re often targeted by criminals.

Neighbors all agreed that they are fortunate to have Montemayor around for protection.
