Video shot by Caesar Gergess somewhere on and above the wild shores of ancient Egypt under a leaden sky using only an iPhone 5 and featuring glamorous Egyptian belly dancers in a scene from an old movie from the forties starring the queen of belly dance Tahia Carioca. 'The stray dog fell in love with me and was following me everywhere although I tried to keep her aloof in order to feed the start cats of the neighborhood'. Editing is homemade in Paris and the dedication of this song goes straight to the Air France flight 447 that has vanished in the ocean on June 1st, 2009. 'I was recording 'Journeys by Night' around that time and it felt natural to include my kind of lament in my debut album all about travelling...'.
HOW DEEP IS THE OCEAN (IRVING BERLIN, 1932)
HOW MUCH DO I LOVE YOU?
I'LL TELL YOU NO LIE
HOW DEEP IS THE OCEAN?
HOW HIGH IS THE SKY?
HOW MANY TIMES A DAY DO I THINK OF YOU?
HOW MANY ROSES ARE SPRINKLED WITH DEW?
HOW FAR WOULD I TRAVEL
TO BE WHERE YOU ARE?
HOW FAR IS THE JOURNEY
FROM HERE TO A STAR?
AND IF I EVER LOST YOU
HOW MUCH WOULD I CRY?
HOW DEEP IS THE OCEAN?
HOW HIGH IS THE SKY?
AND IF I EVER LOST YOU
HOW MUCH WOULD I CRY?
HOW DEEP IS THE OCEAN?
HOW HIGH IS THE SKY?
