Netflix's Tongue-in-Cheek Drone Service Aimed at Amazon Prime Air

Netflix, a fast growing brand, probably doesn't have much use for drones considering their distribution channel is now primarily online. However, that hasn't stopped them from producing a great tongue-in-cheek video of how drones could help grow their legacy DVD business.

From beer to books - it seems everything will be delivered to be our homes via drones in the not-too-distant future. Netflix, a fast growing brand, probably doesn't have much use for drones considering their distribution channel is now primarily online. However, that hasn't stopped them from producing a great tongue-in-cheek video of how drones could help grow their legacy DVD business.

The General Manager of Netflix’s DVD Division, Hank Breeggemann proudly states - ‘By enabling location services on your smartphone, the disc can come right to you, wherever you may be.’

It's not a stretch to assume Amazon's Prime Air inspired Netflix's ‘Drone 2 Home’ announcement.

The footage shows a surprisingly advanced looking drone holding Netflix’s signature red envelope. The drone goes from door to door and travels over waterways easily, but as it continues traveling the glitches are made abundantly clear.

One highlight is the drone blowing papers all over a cubicle during a delivery. Another one is a terrified woman running away from the device following an explosion.
