It's not just aggressive dogs and cats that mail carriers have to worry about.

A man in Akron, Ohio has been accused of biting his 56-year-old mail carrier. 25-year-old Robert Kiefer reportedly flew off the handle because the victim didn’t have a very important piece of mail he was expecting.

The envelope he was waiting for had a check inside. Evidently frustrated over the fact that he'd have to wait a little longer for it to arrive, Kiefer took out his aggression on the postal worker.

He swiped the mailman’s own pepper spray and squirted it in his face. Kiefer then proceeded to fight with the victim and bit his leg three times. The cops were soon called.

When officers arrived on scene, they found the two men battling in an intersection. A small crowd of onlookers had gathered around them to watch.

Kiefer was reportedly difficult to subdue and resisted cops’ attempts to break up the fight. He had to be pepper sprayed by officers before being handcuffed, and was charged with assault and resisting arrest.

The mail carrier was treated for his injuries by paramedics.
