A Spanish cargo ship was torn in half on February 5 after high seas smashed it against a sea wall on the Bay of Biscay. Helicopters were needed to airlift crew members from the 330-foot Spanish vessel, The Luno. The ship succumbed when its engines failed near the town of Anglet, local officials reported.
