A Northern Virginia woman whose car stalled at an intersection was looking for help, but says all she got from passing motorists were dirty looks and rude gestures.

She was on her way down Route 7 when her car’s electrical system gave out.

Unable to put her hazards on, she sat in the car hoping someone would stop and give her a hand.

In the 45 minutes she was stranded there, not one person did.

She did get a lot of attention, but none of it was of the good variety.

Realizing she was on her own, she called a tow truck but was informed the wait would be 25 minutes.

Luckily, a patrol car eventually pulled up behind her and turned on its flashing lights, giving her comfort that she wouldn’t be hit while waiting for her immobilized car to moved.

A Triple A spokesperson said of the incident, "We as motorists have a social contract. When we see people in those situations, we need to give them grace...”

Drivers finding themselves in similar circumstances are advised to exit the car and seek a safe place to wait.
