Czech President Milos Zeman has appointed a new centre-left cabinet with ministers from three coalition parties to take power immediately.

It ends a seven month vacuum that has hampered policymaking to boost a recovery from a record-long recession.

A caretaker administration has ruled since a centre-right cabinet collapsed in a sleaze scandal last June.
