Channel Tunnel workers treated for carbon monoxide

Nineteen workers have suffered carbon monoxide “poisoning” while changing rail tracks overnight in the Channel Tunnel, according to the French prefecture in the Pas-de-Calais region.

Eurotunnel says they were taken to local hospitals as a precaution and most went home after tests showed no ill effects.

One worker was taken to hospital in Lille for further examination but was expected to be released.
