Abused Dog Gets New Prosthetic Paw

Dogs are incredibly resilient. A 1-year-old pooch in Orlando, Florida is a prime example. Named Debbie, anybody who has the joy of meeting her today would never guess she had the worst possible start to life.

Last year, Debbie was found abandoned in Miami. Her ears were mutilated and her front paw had been cut off.

It didn’t take long for the dog’s life to turn around. She was adopted by a new owner and received numerous prosthetics to assist her in walking. But, being a fast growing pup, she outgrew them all.

The local company ABC Prosthetics and Orthotics, is fitting her for a brand new one and workers there hope this prosthetic will take her through her the rest of her full grown dog years, comfortably.

The company even decided to donate the limb to the family free of charge, after learning of Debbie’s unpleasant beginnings and subsequent transition into a loving home.

The most inspirational part of Debbie’s ordeal, is that today, she’s a happy, playful dog. A pooch that runs around despite her missing paw; her tail constantly wags, leaving no outward indication of her traumatic past.
