Number 5. The Point. Simply pointing at people and things is for rubes. To look like a high level smarty-pants you need to put some wrist into it.

Number 4. The Critical Whirl. Can’t choose the right words because there are so many impossibly important ones rushing around in your head? Just keep up this motion until you’ve managed to spit out your complete thought.

Number 3. The Tiny Dialect. Use the small knob-turning-like gesture to call attention to how detailed and finely tuned your ideas are.

Number 2. The Italian Waiter. By joining your finger and thumb and pivoting them back and forth, you draw attention to your words while lending the impression you just got back from a Roman holiday.

Number 1. The Shelf Sweep. Mimicking clearing books off of a shelf makes it obvious you’re leaving behind old information for some that’s even more significant and probably life changing.
