It's time our vending machines go beyond sodas and basic snacks.

A vending machine that serves up hot burritos, sides optional, has appeared at a Los Angeles gas station.

According to its makers, The Box Brands, Inc., it’s the first of its kind.

Called the Burrito Box, it’s a bright orange counter top wonder that can deliver one of several types of the Mexican favorite in around a minute.

Customization isn’t available, but lots of options are.

Patrons can choose between six offerings. Many come with egg and cheese and variations of roasted potato, uncured bacon, and chorizo.

There are also more traditional selections like chicken, beans and rice and shredded beef.

The cost is only 3 dollars each, and sides run from 50 to 75 cents. Those include Daisy sour cream, Tabasco, and Wholly Guacamole.

As if that isn’t enough, the box plays a music video to keep you entertained while you wait for your burrito to get melty.

So far, the only box in service is at a Mobil station in West Hollywood, but another is planned for a 76 in Century City.
