A new product is being marketed to women who want to wear high heels,
without the pain caused by uncomfortable shoes.

Heel No Pain/Style by Biochemistry is a numbing cucumber
scented foot spray created by plastic surgeon Doctor Randal
Haworth in Beverly Hills, California.

It contains the chemical lidocaine hydrochloride, which is used by doctors and
dentists as a local anesthetic.

Some orthopedic experts are skeptical of the product, saying that it
just masks the pain rather than actually helping to cure it.

Haworth says that the spray works for around 70 percent of the people
who try it.

It reportedly takes between 10 and 15 minutes to start working on
eliminating the pain, but it should not be used more than four times a
day.

The spray will be commercially available in one and two ounce bottles
starting in 2014.

The company’s website is also marketing another product called Heel No
Pain/Active for athletes with foot pain from minor injuries like
pulled or strained muscles.

What do you think? Would you use the foot spray to temporarily relieve
the pain of wearing high heels?
