Find the best financial services for you at: SMARTFINANCESOLUTIONS.NET - Can a credit agency force me to pay? - I have a debt of $800.05 owing from a Phone company it was originally $2000, The phone was stolen and I didn't have phone insurance. I have been paying off this debt over 12months and the agency have been wonderful in allowing small weekly payments. But now the phone company have told the credit agency that the debt must be paid in full within 30 days. I have pleaded with the credit agency to extend the date or for me to make larger payments but they tell me that it is just not possible and I should claim bankruptcy, this is something i am not prepared to do. I have no intention of completely screwing up my credit for a small debt, all the information i have found suggests that you should not go bankrupt for a debt less that $10,000. In my opinion they have gone back on their verbal contract with me to pay it off weekly. Is there any other option? Have any laws been broken by the agency? is there anything else i can do?
PS: I have attempted to get a loan for $2000 dollars to give me extended time to pay off the debt but because I have an outstanding debt they will not consider it. I live in Australia

Please help me -
