In Windows 7, click the Start button – now I have a shortcut here to Devices and Printers. But if you don’t see that, just click Control Panel.
Under Hardware and Sound, click View Devices and Printers, then right-click on the printer that you want to use and then choose Set as default printer.
You see a green check-mark on the printer icon and that means it's now your default printer.
