The Saddest Love Poem Of All Time (Voices Of The Rose) was a piece taken from a collection of letters written by Preston Barnes to a secret lover.... who left him for another man..... a collection of a total 7 letters all written based on dreams or past events and converted into poems..... this poem was written based on the last letter that was entitled The Voices Of The Rose...... none of these seven letters or the poems were ever sent to Preston's secret lover to this day..... hence the title The Letters Never Sent...... and this letter in particular was written by Preston in the night after a bad dream and a revelation of possible future events...... The purpose for why these letters were never sent is mysterious and takes a great amount of thought..... however Preston never sent them because he realized that the woman he loved was happy with the man she had....... and he did not want to take that happiness away...... so he waited quietly and alone in secrecy...... to see if one day she would come back to him...... or if she would ever love him again.
