Beat up roads in desperate need of repair can not only wreak havoc on vehicles but can also cause fatalities in some cases.

A small town in southwest Colombia, called Barbacaos is home to one particular street that is in dire need of fixing. It’s so bad that local women are refusing to have sex until its fixed.

It’s a dirt road, but the major problem is that the street serves as the sole connection to other nearby, more populated and advanced areas, which is where important facilities, like the closest hospital are located.

Using the beaten up road to get to town can take up to 14 hours.. and that’s only going one way. In the past, pregnant women in labor have died on that road, while desperately trying to reach the hospital.

The women’s campaign, called “crossed legs movement” is very basic. The ladies will deprive their partners of sex until the road is fixed.

Although this is second time the ladies have initiated such a program of sorts, this time it seems to be taking. Local authorities have reportedly already started repairing the isolated, dirt street.
