Citizens in Seattle recently received a warning and informational alert by police after a thrift store worker found a bag containing a large amount of pot in the donation bin.

Thrift stores can take pretty much any unwanted items; clothing, shoes, home décor, dishes and the list goes on. However, some items just can’t be donated.

Citizens in Seattle recently received a warning and informational alert by police after a thrift store worker found a bag containing a large amount of pot in the donation bin. The police department issued a press release noting that “Donating to thrift shops is a terrific way to give a second life to your well-loved Velcro sneakers, keyboards or flannel zebra jammies”.

But it was also pointed out that certain things aren’t welcome and definitely can’t be resold including soiled mattresses, tires, computers and bags of cannabis.

The announcement was triggered after an employee had cleaned out the bin which was located near N. 100th Street and Aurora Ave N.

And that's when the store staffer opened up one of the sacks, it was discovered that about 2.5 pounds of pot had been ditched. The police were immediately contacted.

When officers arrived on scene, they confiscated the marijuana and marked it as evidence for destruction.
