One man in Garden City, Utah decided to try for a creative, albeit embarrassing excuse, for an explanation as to why he led a trooper on a high speed chase.

39-year-old Jeffrey Laub told Judge Thomas Willmore that he had eaten something that caused his stomach to become upset on the day of the incident. He was driving at a speed of 111 mph through Logan Canyon, with police trailing him in hot pursuit because he needed to reach the rest area at the summit.
Willmore didn’t seem to buy Laub’s reasoning.
He pointed out that Laub passed several outhouses during the chase which occurred last Spring. Willmore stated “That is one of the worst stories I have ever heard.”
Once the trooper was able to catch up with Laub, he was arrested and charged with failure to stop for an officer, impaired and reckless driving along with having an open container of alcohol in the vehicle.
In August, Laub pleaded guilty to failure to stop and impaired driving. Willmore just recently sentenced him to 7 days behind bars.
