At least thirty people have been killed in floods in Cambodia as heavy monsoon rains have drowned provinces along the Mekong river, raising fears the country is set for a repeat of the 1996 floods, which killed 170 and affected a million people nationwide.

The Mekong has burst its banks in several places, forcing tens of thousands of people to higher ground.
