Imagine driving past your house and realizing it was no longer standing.

Under bizarre circumstances, wrecking crews in Pontiac, Michigan recently demolished the wrong house.

The huge error occurred because of a man’s plan to save his own house. That male’s home was scheduled for demolition but in an attempt to trick workers, he changed the address numbers with a house that was located next door.

Mike, who is the owner of the house that was mistakenly knocked down claimed that he planned on renting out the home on October 1st. He is inquiring if the city of Pontiac will be paying for a new house.

Neighbors are rather happy about the demolition mistake as Mike’s house has quite a reputation for being an eyesore. The home reportedly had broken windows and there were squatters living inside.

One nearby dweller bluntly stated “When I heard they tore down the house on accident I wanted to give them a twelve pack of beer. I was that happy. If anybody was going to rent that out, it had to be a crackhead."

The unnamed male’s plan to save his house didn’t work, as crews returned to demolish the correct one.
