School children hospitalised after gas leak

A gas leak from a nearby business complex forced two schools in Brisbane to evacuate Thursday.
Fire and rescue personnel were on the scene to treat the some 60 victims for nausea and vomiting.
Officials said the fumes were not dangerous and were not expected to cause any serious medical conditions.
(SOUNDBITE)(English) QUEENSLAND STATE FIRE AND RESCUE SERVICE ACTING CHIEF SUPERINTENDENT, KEVIN WALSH SAYING:
"It appears that there has been a release of a stenching agent, a type of agent that's used with natural gas to give it a distinctive smell, so obviously in high concentrated release of a minor amount, that smell goes across the suburbs and it's travelled as far as 6 to 7 km (3.7 - 4.3 miles) away. But the good news is that there's no indication and there's no concerns for any type of serious medical condition."
Local media say at least six children were taken to hospital for treatment.
