An establishment may soon be offering services which will allow locals to do a little multitasking in the forms of drinking, socializing and mailing.
A pub is now working on adding a postal desk in the establishment. The Nutley Arms, is the business where a makeshift post office is slated to be set up.
The idea behind the scheme is to offer postal services in areas where offices aren’t in abundance due to many recent closures.
The Post Office regional network manager for the south stated "We understand how important having a post office is to residents in rural communities in the Uckfield area and we are confident that these hosted outreach services will meet the needs of the local communities and secure services for the future.”
Postal authorities hope the Nutley Arms branch will be open one day a week, on Tuesdays, from 10 in the morning until noon. The previous Nutley branch closed in May of 2007.
