Cases of dog abuse and neglect are heartbreaking and maddening to say the very least.

In one recent case, a pit bull was euthanized after being shot four times.

The Washington Humane Society is determined to find the culprit responsible for the shooting and is offering a $5,000 reward for any information that leads to the arrest of the person behind the unthinkable act.

The badly injured and bleeding dog named Buster was discovered in an alley in northeast Washington. It is currently thought that the dog was shot on the evening of July 23 with a .380 caliber handgun and the person responsible left the dog to die.

Buster survived until the next day when he was discovered. The canine had wounds to his chest and face.

Sadly, animal authorities were forced to euthanize Buster due to the severity of his injuries and drastic amount of blood lost. Humane Law Enforcement found shell casings at the scene. Metropolitan Police were immediately notified of Buster’s shooting.

Anyone with information about the disturbing crime is asked to immediately contact the Washington Humane Society Law Enforcement Department.
