Brazil is getting ready to host the upcoming 2014 FIFA World Cup. Their preparations include making buses for visiting soccer teams participating in the World Cup that run partially on used cooking oil.

Their preparations include developing a recycled oil biodiesel to power the buses carrying visiting soccer teams.
The buses will reportedly run on a blend of 20 percent recycled cooking oil.
Brazil is the world’s top producer of biodiesel, and a Brazil-based company Biotechnos is creating biofuel from recycled cooking oil to power several projects associated with the 2014 World Cup Brazil Promotion Plan.
- There are 40 possible projects in various host cities that will use the fuel, and reportedly Airbus is also considering using the biofuel for planes transporting teams to the World Cup.
The production of the biodiesel for the projects has already begun and they hope to have approximately 6.6 million gallons of biodiesel ready in time for the World Cup next year.
The transportation projects will not only accommodate the delegations of World Cup participants, but also other services. (2,4,3)
