8-Year-Old Child Rescued From Running Washing Machine

A little boy from Castaic was found inside a water-filled washing machine, completely unconscious. He was pulled out by his dad.
Authorities in California are investigating a perplexing and alarming incident that occurred involving an 8-year-old child. The little boy was found unconscious inside a water-filled washing machine in the family home.
He was pulled from the machine by his dad. The father immediately dialed 911. Deputies quickly arrived at the residence and administered CPR to the boy.
The fire department also responded to the scene and helped to resuscitate him. Described as “Clinging to life”, the boy was taken to a local hospital, where he is now listed in critical, but stable condition.
The incident was reported at approximately 7:30 pm at night. The boy’s mother was out shopping and the father was doing yard work outside the house, when he decided to check on his son. That’s when the child was discovered in the washing machine.
His head was underwater and surrounded by clothing. It was evident a load of laundry was being done at the time.
Investigators are trying to learn how and why the boy got inside the washer. The child reportedly has special needs and often helps out with household chores, especially laundry.
