Iraqi violence stokes fears of full-blown conflict

A car bomb has exploded in the ethnically-mixed Iraqi city of Kirkuk, killing one and injuring six others.

The bloodshed is the latest in a sustained campaign of militant attacks in the country since the beginning of the year.

Sectarian tensions in the area are high as the civil war in Syria, draws Iraqi Shi'ite and Sunni Muslims to fight on opposite sides of the conflict.
