Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the Pakistan-born engineer of the September 11, 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon, asked the CIA if he could design a vacuum for them while undergoing waterboarding in prison. The CIA agreed because they didn’t want they guy to "go nuts". The BBC says the Harry Potter series of books was also used to keep the terrorist sane.
