We all love fast food but certainly not for its nutritional value.

Recently, Long John Silver's received some bad publicity, after one of their dishes, known as Big Catch, received the title of the "worst restaurant meal in America” by a health organization.

The meal which retails for just under $5, gives diners an 8 ounce piece of fried haddock, along with their choice of two side dishes. When The Center for Science in the Public Interest did some research on the dish, it was found that Big Catch contained 33 grams of trans fat due to the company’s use of partially hydrogenated frying oil.

The CSPI tested a meal with fried onion rings and hushpuppies as the sides and found it contained 1,320 calories, 19 grams of saturated fats and 3,700 milligrams of sodium. It is alleged that Long John Silver's is posting inaccurate nutritional information about the Big Catch on its website.

According to the CSPI– “This company is taking perfectly healthy fish — and entombing it in a thick crust of batter and partially hydrogenated oil. The result? A heart attack on a hook.”
