Friends, family and fans gathered in New York City Thursday morning (June 27) to say their farewells to actor James Gandolfini, best known for his role as mob boss Tony Soprano on the hit HBO show ‘The Sopranos’.  Members of the public were allowed to attend the service. Among those that turned out were fans, former co-workers and those whose lives the star had touched in some way.  Many said they would regret it had they not come to pay their respects while for some it was hard to say goodbye. Those that had had personal interactions with Gandolfini said he was a kind and sensitive man, nothing like the cold-hearted mob boss Tony Soprano.
