French high fashion couturier Jean-Louis Scherrer has died at the age of 78 after a long illness.
After starting out at Christian Dior, he went on to become a leading name in haute couture in his own right.
Sherrer launched his own label in 1962 and counted Jackie Kennedy among his clients.
