Not many games allow the digital locking of lips. Chulip, a very strange game, makes kissing its main novelty. Players will kiss the many denizens of Long Life Town and its surrounding neighborhoods in order to build a better reputation and heart, all for the chance to kiss a girl. From S&M clad men, Godzilla clones, Aliens, and a zombie chick, the cast of strange characters to kiss is quite large. Between kissing, the game functions as an atypical adventure game of fetch questing, item collecting, and vague puzzle solving. Thankfully, a walkthrough is provided in the game's manual, which eases some of the game's biggest frustrations. Death lingers around every corner. One wouldn't expect a game about kissing to have such a high death and game over ratio as Dark Souls. Still, the game's crude art style, low-budget aesthetic, and outright weird story make the game worth playing. This video review features video gameplay footage of Chulip for the Playstation 2 and audio commentary from Classic Game Room's Adam.
