Bosnia melts down old weapons

Hundreds of assault rifles, hand guns, bazookas and ammunition have been destroyed in Bosnia. Authorities want to reduce the number of illegal arms across the Balkan nation.

Bosnian Muslims, Croats and Serbs who were at war in the 1990s, held onto their weapons in fear of renewed conflict.

The arms were taken to Bosnia's biggest steel factory to be melted down and the metal recycled.
