The Hamptons' Summer Rentals Hit $1 Million

Summer rental estates in Hamptons are going for $1 million.

Only the rich get to play in The Hamptons. But just how rich do you have to be to rent a place for the summer? Well, more than a millionaire judging by some of the listings.

Real estate agents in the area claim that at least 6 homes and estates are available for around $1 million. That price is solely for the summer rental. No utilities or other bills are included.

Breaking it down, that comes to a little under $10,000 a day. A Manhattan broker, who also works in the Hamptons stated “It's unprecedented. The demand is not just strong, it's unbelievable.”

The majority of the high-ticket rentals are not listed on websites, but instead they are offered through agents with insider knowledge.

One of the properties up for temporary grabs is a presumably gorgeous place in Water Mill. 8 bedrooms and 10 bathrooms take up space in the 14,000 square foot main residence along with a home theater. A guest house, pool and tennis court reside on the surrounding land.

So are you ready to spend your summer in the Hamptons?
