00:00If you are just tuning in, we are going to breaking news out of Washington.
00:03The seat here at the White House is getting over the table.
00:05Following the situation as it's developing on the White House ground.
00:09That's my first action move in a long time.
00:12We gotta go, we gotta go, we gotta go!
00:14It's about the White House.
00:16It's the first time I don't totally blow it up.
00:21I just do it bit by bit.
00:30Okay, let's go.
00:34Roland really likes to play with icons.
00:37And if you look at the content of his films, they're fun event movies.
00:40And they take place and unfold over a global scale.
00:44They're big ideas that have to do with real world human issues.
00:47My daughter's downstairs.
00:48Where are you?
00:49Move, move!
00:50She's just a little girl, I gotta go get her.
00:51He really focuses on the story.
00:53At the same time, nobody shoots Mayhem better.
01:00Roland gets up every day and makes this work.
01:04The size and the scope of this project, it's a monster job.
01:08When you're working with Roland, you're gonna need a bigger stage.
01:10Every single element of this film is an inside set piece.
01:14This movie is a huge spectacle.
01:17With a helicopter and tons of people and things on fire.
01:21I mean, it's pretty amazing.
01:22There's a certain scope to his movies and to visually how he approaches it.
01:27But I think what makes it fun to work with him as well is that it's not just about that.
01:32That was good.
01:33And cut.
01:35I think one of the things about Roland that people don't realize is how much of an actor's director he is.
01:39Politicians always love talking about sacrifice.
01:42You think I don't know anything about sacrifice doing this job?
01:44How many people come to your house and want to kill you?
01:47He's a joy to work with.
01:49He's so careful of his actors.
01:51We're crashing the White House.
01:52Get that hallway clear if we have to move. Go!
01:54It's great to have a person who allows you to bring in your voice and bring in your ideas.
01:59Your daughter says that I'm her hero.
02:01And I gotta earn that.
02:02Great, great, great!
02:04As an actor, you love that.
02:05He's always got your back.
02:06He's always going to tell the story.
02:08But also, the guy knows how to shoot.
02:14Roland has a very clear vision.
02:16You have got to get the president to safety.
02:18This film is really frenetic.
02:21And there's a lot of energy to what he's doing.
02:23Go, go, go, go, go!
02:27The camera crew have protection on them because he's bringing the camera right into the action.
02:35He's able to balance this symphony of elements from the floor effects to the performances to the visual effects.
02:42His attention to all of that detail and the way that he's able to bring those elements together, it's pretty amazing.
02:49You can't do this by yourself.
02:53When you see him at the monitors, you can always tell if the director loves what he does.
02:58It's such a big movie.
03:00It's just been a blast.
03:01It's exciting for the audience and I think they will be really surprised.
03:05So, be nice to meet him at the end of the show.
03:06We'll see you soon.
03:07We'll see you there.
03:08We'll see you soon.
03:10See you soon.
