Benjamin Ringel was born on December 16, 1974, in New York. He picked up the guitar at the age of 13. He began by playing along to Neil Young, and soon enough he discovered the sound of jazz. Ben Ringel attended the Stanford University, but before graduating he dropped out and joined the “Ground Rules” band. After a year in this band, and no significant success, Benjamin Ringel left the band and joined “The Carpenters”. He recorded his first album in 1993 with this band, but the following year he recorded his first solo album. The album was well received and has been critically acclaimed. After the first album, Ben Ringel changed his playing style moving toward a more traditional sound. Over the yeas his music style has evolved as he continued to experiment and push the boundaries of jazz.
