Paysages partagés, (shared landscape) is an artistic project developed by Claire Willemann who chose to cross the city of Timisoara on foot, from the eastern point to the western one. The starting point is the eastern point that she has reached until now. The artist decided to link those two opposite points walking along the Bega river, drawing a loop in the city center, passing by the French Institute. She didn’t want to go to this road alone, so she fixed meeting points along the way. On each part of the road (approximately 18km) divided into 6, someone joined her, so all participants took turn walking to the west, connecting Romania to France.
This road was done during a workshop with 6 students in Art and Design of the West University of Timisoara, from April 8th to April 12th. Each of them was involved in a creation process, and has experimented different ways for building a landscape from their own perceptions of an environment, influenced also by others. Day after day, together, using different medias like writing, photography, video and sound, they produced shared landscapes.
Participants: Daniel Bodea, Sergiu Andrei Butnariu, Rodica Cosarba, Andreea-Doria Costin, Raluca Margescu, Jonike Mihaj.
