00:00Welcome to the 119th edition of Paris Tour, one of the final races of the 2025 season.
00:09And as the autumn leaves fall, so does the curtain on the career of Arnaud Desmarres.
00:14The French sprinter won here in 21 and 22, the 34-year-old nostalgic towards a race that's been good to him.
00:20It's about passion, no regrets, just giving everything until the very end.
00:27In that final race, where some might ease up, I always want to be on the attack to force splits.
00:32I always give my maximum.
00:34And even though the gravel paths weren't exactly my speciality, the fact that I've won here twice shows I can do it again.
00:45Strong classic riders who can sprint, like Arnaud Delis, should be licking their lips.
00:50The Belgian with six wins from his last eight race days and aiming to learn lessons from last year's edition.
00:57Well, last year was really poor, but it is what it is.
01:02The weather is beautiful, maybe a bit of wind, so we'll have to stay alert during the race.
01:06As for the finale, it'll be explosive.
01:08You need to be right at the front and not afraid.
01:11Like Paris-Roubaix, it's one of the oldest classics, so it was a major change to introduce vineyard gravel paths a few years back.
01:18Paris-Roubaix, a much more unpredictable race proving by Christophe Leporte.
01:22The last year, the Frenchman wasn't in top form, yet he returns as defending champion.
01:27Mentally, I'm starting with the idea that I'll be in the mix and then we'll see.
01:32It's going to be a really long, hard day, just like always.
01:35I don't know.
01:36I've not had a huge amount of fitness behind me.
01:38I haven't done a lot of racing, so I'm not entirely sure what to expect in an event like this.
01:43But I think I can be there come the finish.
01:47Over 210km from Chartres-de-Tours and the Boulevard Béranger.
01:52Yet the real challenge begins at 146km.
01:55After wind and potential echelons on the Long Plains, it's time for the vineyard paths.
01:5910km of gravel sectors in total short climbs that will electrify the finale.
02:04A demanding route that will reveal the true contenders likely to sprint in a reduced group for the win.
02:10A breakaway of six went early on, although that reduced soon, on the first gravel sectors.
02:18One dropped, one punctured.
02:20The latter the fate suffered by Jordan Labrosse.
02:23Positioning imported with a fierce pace.
02:25For the first two hours of nearly 50k on average.
02:29Desmar and Riley Sheehan were caught on the wrong side,
02:32but were able to regroup with the rest of the peloton.
02:35The front four entering the first vineyard path at Limeray.
02:40Yatris de Vries, Jonas Rutz, Johan Jakobs and Kenny Molle.
02:45The one minute in hand.
02:46UAE in lotto were the driving forces at the front, but the rocky roads were decimating the pack.
02:51Roon Herregots won Paris Tour Espoir, but his hopes were dashed.
02:56One of 28 who did not finish.
02:58For those still trucking, a gap blown apart.
03:01Inside the 50k mark, the breakaway reeled in.
03:05Decathlon AG2R bringing French champion Dorian Godin to the front, looking in fine fetter.
03:11The peloton was down to around 50 riders and now was fracturing further.
03:18Last year's runner-up Matthias Vasek hitting the accelerator sharply.
03:22With 35k to go, a good time to test those legs and a home duo kicked on.
03:28Thibaut Gruelle and former national champion Paul Lepera.
03:32French compatriot Vanten Madouas tried to go with, but missed the bus.
03:37Taking some seconds, but plenty work to do.
03:40And trouble for Delis.
03:42A change of bike necessary after a puncture.
03:44A big blow to the Belgian's hopes as the favourites group moved on.
03:48No such problems for a dangerous looking Vasek, aided by teammate Jasper Steuven.
03:55Delis receiving help as Alex Serga dropped back to pick up his companion.
04:00While up the road, Lepera and Gruelle were clinging to a slender lead.
04:05Less than 10 seconds with 20k to go as they approached Vernou.
04:10The peloton did take its foot off the gas.
04:13The gap rising towards 40 seconds.
04:15Upcoming the crucial combination of the Côte de Vallée Chartier
04:19and gravel sector number two Le Pot-Maurier.
04:22The race about to ignite into life.
04:25On the Côte de Vallée Chartier, Alessandro Covey and Albert Philipson
04:29formed a counter-attack.
04:30That just an appetizer before the main course served by the 2024 champion.
04:35A huge attack from Christophe Laporte.
04:38And he formed a fantastic five chase.
04:40Philipson able to cling on with Vacek, Stefan Bissinger
04:44and two-time winner Mathieu Trenton in tow.
04:4620 seconds gap with 17k to go.
04:49For the final defining combination, gravel sector number one at Roche-Caubon
04:54and the subsequent climb.
04:56The suspense palpable but time running out.
04:59Laporte kicked on the final ascent.
05:02Too much for Vacek.
05:04While Bissinger comfortable with teammate Lepera up the road.
05:07Pursuit fell to Tudor's pros, Italian Trenton and fellow two-time champion Laporte.
05:14So close for local favourite Thibaut Gruelle having grown up just 25km from Tours.
05:19He and Lapera clinging on to try and complete a spectacular climax.
05:23The pair collaborating but Laporte's group bearing down.
05:261000m to go and these two riders are about to hand this race to the chase.
05:33What are they doing?
05:36Why have they decided to do this?
05:38This is not good news.
05:40How to throw away a bike race could well be unfolding in front of you right now.
05:46Yep, they are about to throw this away to the group of riders behind.
05:53And they've been caught.
05:56Absolutely incredible.
05:58To ride like that and to bring four other riders into the game.
06:04They had it in the bag.
06:05They would have finished first and second.
06:09And Bissinger now gets ready with Lepera.
06:12Maybe that was the plan.
06:14Surely not.
06:15Four hours and 18 minutes of racing.
06:18Have Thibaut Gruelle and Paul Lepera handed this race to the group of riders behind.
06:25Bissinger starts the sprint.
06:27He starts to lead it out for his teammate.
06:30But Philipson is getting ready.
06:32And he's the big danger man.
06:34But so is Matteo Trentin.
06:36Trentin now kicks on the right hand side.
06:39Matteo Trentin looking for this victory.
06:41Does he have the legs?
06:42Philipson now challenges.
06:44Matteo Trentin.
06:45It's almost slow motion.
06:47Trentin takes a hat-trick of wins in the Parry Tour.
06:53A treble of triumphs for Matteo Trentin.
06:56But this is the first time the former European champion had done so on the new gravel course.
07:002015, 2017 and now 2025.
07:03A seven-time Grand Tour stage winner.
07:06Another milestone for the 36-year-old Italian.
07:09Finally I can actually win a race this year.
07:14After the Tour de France I was feeling really good.
07:16Finally the legs were what it should be.
07:19I was a bit unlucky.
07:21In Hamburg I got injured and I had to wait again to come back racing.
07:24But finally I got it.
07:26The 119th Parry Tour sees Matteo Trentin once again crowned his champion.
07:33Christophe Laporte ran out of road while Dane Philipson took third ahead of brave La Pera and Ruelle.
07:41Join us next year for the 120th edition.
07:44The final Autumn Classic and one of the last great rendezvous of the season.
07:48Season.
07:49THANK YOU najdah.
