00:00Soon, starlight will scatter through the dark.
00:05So let's all look up at Stargazing Park.
00:10This way.
00:12Hello, Stargazers.
00:14We've had a fantastic week here at Stargazing Park, spotting wonderful things in the night
00:20sky.
00:21Well, we've got one more chance to do that tonight.
00:24So have you got everything you need, Stargazers?
00:26Yeah.
00:27Brilliant.
00:28I hope you have too.
00:29Come on.
00:30All together.
00:31Here we go.
00:32Look up.
00:41When the night falls, Maggie helps us see wonders of the stars above us all.
00:48Turn the lights low, grab a cosy rug, wrap up warm and snug.
00:53Here we go.
00:55We're going stargazing.
00:56We're going stargazing.
00:58We're going stargazing.
00:59Gaze at stars shining bright.
01:02We're going stargazing.
01:05Spot a zooming satellite.
01:08We're going stargazing.
01:10We're going stargazing.
01:11We're going stargazing.
01:12Glimpse the moon and the planets above.
01:13We're going stargazing.
01:14We're going stargazing.
01:15We're going stargazing.
01:16We're going stargazing.
01:18We're going stargazing.
01:19So just look up, look up, look up.
01:22Come and join us underneath the stars.
01:38Hi, Chris. Hi, stargazers.
01:40Hello, Maggie.
01:42Welcome to the stargazing park.
01:45Now, what can we see up there?
01:48I'm not seeing very many stars at the moment,
01:50but perhaps if we turn the lights down low, that's better,
01:55and let our eyes get used to the dark,
01:57and the more we look, the more we'll see.
02:01After a while, you can see them, can't you?
02:05It takes a while for your eyes to get used to the dark.
02:08So now, let's try and make some star patterns,
02:11because I can see three stars.
02:13One, two, three.
02:15What shape does that make?
02:16A triangle.
02:17That's right, a triangle.
02:19Now, I wonder who else is looking up
02:22and making patterns with the stars tonight?
02:32It's Jim.
02:34Hello, stargazers.
02:36We're trying to spot seven stars
02:38that make a pattern called the plough, aren't we?
02:40Yeah.
02:41Now, the plough is made up of seven stars
02:44that sparkle like jewels in the sky.
02:46So let's see if we can spot it.
02:48Can you see it?
02:50It's a bit cloudy.
02:51And it's a bit orange.
02:53There are quite a lot of lights around here, aren't there?
02:55Well, we'll keep looking,
02:56because we might see it soon.
02:58And we went on a treasure hunt earlier to find some jewels.
03:01So join us again later to find out how we got on.
03:07I wonder if Jem used a treasure map on her treasure hunt.
03:11Well, on the CBeebies website, you can find some maps.
03:15They're star maps.
03:16Look at this.
03:17Here, on this star map, we can see the plough.
03:20But we can also see it up there.
03:22Can everybody see the plough?
03:24Can you count the stars for me?
03:26One, two, three, four, five, six, seven.
03:33So that's the plough.
03:35Why is it called the plough?
03:37That is a very good question, Imogen.
03:39Why is it called the plough?
03:41I think we should best answer that in the Star Cafe.
03:44OK.
03:45Let's go eat.
03:47So why don't we have a look at these pictures?
03:50Does anyone know what this is?
03:53A saucepan.
03:54A saucepan, yes.
03:56OK, I've got another picture here.
03:57See if you can guess what this one is.
04:00A spoon.
04:02And then I've got this picture.
04:04A plough.
04:05A plough.
04:06Does anyone know what a plough is used for?
04:08Ooh, Oliver, what do you think it's used for?
04:10It's used for planting seeds.
04:12It goes along before the planter to make the ground more easier to plant.
04:18So each of the pictures has seven stars,
04:21and the pattern of the stars is exactly the same,
04:23but people have seen different pictures.
04:26Well, maybe the seven stars that make up the plough could also be this.
04:31What do you think I've drawn here using those seven stars, Oliver?
04:35A fishing boat.
04:36Oh, thank you.
04:37You guessed my drawing.
04:39Yes, it's a fishing boat.
04:41It's actually out on the seven seas searching for treasure.
04:45And I wonder how Jim and her stargazers are getting on on their treasure hunt.
04:50Ahoy there, stargazers.
04:53Welcome aboard.
04:54Ahoy!
04:55Good to see you.
04:57Hey, look, I've got a treasure map here.
05:00So how do you fancy coming on a treasure hunt with me?
05:03Yeah!
05:04Yeah?
05:05Okay.
05:06Now the map here shows lots of different stars, and that's where the treasure is hiding.
05:09So how many stars can you see?
05:11Seven!
05:12Seven.
05:13Should we just count them just to check?
05:14One, two, three, four, five, six, seven.
05:19Seven.
05:20You're right.
05:21Well done.
05:22So where do you think all of these stars are hiding?
05:24Around the docks.
05:25Around the docks.
05:26So we need to go and find them all.
05:27Do you think we can do it?
05:28Yeah!
05:29Yeah?
05:30Okay.
05:31Well, let's roll up our treasure map because we're going to need that.
05:32Off we go.
05:33Let's go.
05:34So the first spot is this one here.
05:39So, Thomas, can you see it anywhere?
05:40Brilliant.
05:41Grab it.
05:42Let's go.
05:43Brilliant.
05:44Come on.
05:45Yes!
05:46Yes!
05:47Yes!
05:48Fantastic.
05:49It's the last one.
05:50Now we have all seven of the jewels.
05:51Let's take them back to the zoo.
05:52Yes!
05:53Yes!
05:54Yes!
05:55Yes!
05:56Fantastic.
05:57It's the last one.
05:58Now we have all seven of the jewels.
05:59Let's take them back to the zoo.
06:00Yes!
06:01Yes!
06:02Follow me!
06:03Wow!
06:04They look great.
06:05But the treasure doesn't sparkle.
06:06So how do you think we can make it twinkle?
06:07Look for a clue.
06:08Good idea, Kika.
06:09Okay, let's have a look.
06:10What?
06:11Oh!
06:12Maybe this is something on the back of the treasure map.
06:13There is.
06:14There's something written here.
06:15Oh, right.
06:16Okay.
06:17Nathan, can you read it out for me?
06:18Make the shape of a saucer.
06:19Make the shape of a saucer.
06:20Yes!
06:21Yes!
06:22Yes!
06:23Yes!
06:24Yes!
06:25Yes!
06:26Yes!
06:27Yes!
06:28Yes!
06:29Yes!
06:30Yes!
06:31Make the shape of a saucepan with a handle to see the treasure twinkle bright and sparkle.
06:38Brilliant!
06:39Okay, so we need to find a saucepan.
06:41So Nathan, can you have a look in that crate for me?
06:44There we go.
06:45That's it.
06:46Brilliant.
06:47We need to put our jewels in a shape like this.
06:48Kika, do you think you can put all these jewels into a saucepan shape for us?
06:52Yes.
06:53Come on then, let's see.
06:54So there's the first one.
06:55That's it.
06:56Pop it there.
06:57Yep.
06:58Very good.
06:59And the third one on the end.
07:03Wow, they're twinkling!
07:04Now this shape is called the plough and when you look up into the night sky, you might
07:13see it there looking like a big saucepan.
07:15Hang on a second.
07:16I think there might be another clue on the back of this treasure map.
07:20Should we have a look?
07:21Okay, Thomas, can you hold us up for me please?
07:25Let's see.
07:26There is another clue.
07:27Kika, do you think you could read this one out for us?
07:29Please?
07:31Follow the two stars away from the handle to find the North Star with the brightest sparkle.
07:40Oh, great.
07:41Thank you two very much.
07:43So now we can find another star.
07:46So it said to follow the two stars furthest away from the handles.
07:50That's these two stars here.
07:52If we follow them in a straight line, Thomas, that would lead over there.
07:57So do you think you can walk in that direction for me?
07:59See if you can find another star.
08:00We're just going to have a look.
08:01That's it.
08:02Oh, there's a big barrel and what we found inside.
08:06Treasure.
08:07Yeah, excellent.
08:09Can you bring it back for us?
08:11Let's have a look.
08:12Brilliant.
08:13We found the North Star.
08:15Well done.
08:16Now the North Star is a very important star in the sky because it's the
08:20as it always points north and it helps sailors to steer their boats in the right direction.
08:25Well, stargazers, thank you so much for helping me find all of this lovely treasure.
08:30And we found the North Star and the twinkling plough.
08:35Well, we found a twinkling plough too.
08:40Take a look.
08:41One, two, three, four, five, six, seven.
08:47So now we can use the plough to find the North Star.
08:50Do you know how to do that, Safiya?
08:52Use that one and that one then go straight up.
08:56All the way up to the North Star. Thank you.
08:58Let's see if we can spot the North Star.
09:05To find the North Star, we need to find the plough.
09:10Oh, there it is.
09:13Now we just have to follow the imaginary line north to find that North Star.
09:21There it is.
09:24We found it through the window.
09:35I can see the North Star out of my igloo window.
09:40I'm in a place called Lapland, which is very near the North Pole,
09:45and the North Star is right above my head.
09:49While I'm here, I'm hoping to be really lucky
09:52and to see something incredibly special in the night sky.
09:55The Northern Lights.
09:57The Northern Lights are caused by the sun.
10:00People travel from all over the world just to see them.
10:03They look amazing.
10:04I hope I'm really lucky and get to see them tonight.
10:11Didn't the Northern Lights look beautiful?
10:14Well, we've seen so many beautiful things in the night sky this week.
10:19Planets, the moon, and lots and lots of stars.
10:25Well, now it's time to get cosy for one last starlight story.
10:31Starlight scattered through the dark.
10:38Painting stories for us all.
10:44Gather underneath the stars.
10:50And hear their wonders told.
10:56Looking up into the dark.
11:03The night is yours and it is mine.
11:08Looking up into the dark.
11:11The dark upon us all.
11:14Upon us all the stars will shine.
11:18Upon us all the stars will shine.
11:27Everybody look up.
11:28Because I wonder whose story the stars are going to tell tonight.
11:33Ursa Major the Great Bear.
11:38Ursa Major the Great Bear wished to go on holiday.
11:44A holiday in the sun.
11:47Far away from the snow and ice.
11:50Far from his home under the Northern Lights.
11:53So off he set with his caravan.
11:57Towards the sun to get a tan.
12:00But the bear found sunbathing rather tricky.
12:04It was ever so hot and ever so sticky.
12:09Even splashing in the swimming pool couldn't keep the great bear cool.
12:14He missed rolling in the snow and ice.
12:18He wished to be home under the Northern Lights.
12:23Now the great bear had travelled far.
12:26He needed help from the Northern Star.
12:30Leading him onwards to the snow and ice.
12:34Safely back home under the Northern Lights.
12:39How very helpful the North Star was.
12:47Leading the great bear home.
12:50Well soon it will be time for us to go home and leave Stargazing Park.
12:54But we've got to say a very special thank you to Maggie.
12:57For a great week of Stargazing.
12:59Thank you very much.
13:00And Stargazers thank you.
13:01It's been wonderful.
13:02And remember.
13:03Keep watching the stars.
13:05Before we go.
13:07Get your stars twinkling.
13:09Can you do that for me?
13:10And let's get up and have a dance.
13:12Join in too.
13:13Come on Stargazers.
13:15Twinkle, twinkle, little star.
13:21How I wonder what you are.
13:26Up above the world so high.
13:31Like a diamond in the sky.
13:38Twinkle, twinkle, little star.
13:43How I wonder what you are.
13:48Well done Stargazers.
13:50Good twinkling.
13:52Bye.
13:53Bye.
13:54Bye.
