00:00Thomas and Gordon
00:03Thomas was a tank engine who lived at a big station.
00:07He had six small wheels, a short stumpy funnel, a short stumpy boiler and a short stumpy dome.
00:16He was a fussy little engine, always pulling coaches about.
00:20He pulled them to the station, ready for the big engines to take out on long journeys.
00:26And when trains came in and the people had got out, he would pull the empty coaches away
00:32so that the big engines could go and rest.
00:36He was cheeky too.
00:39He used to play tricks on the other engines.
00:42He liked to come quietly beside them and make them jump.
00:47One day Gordon was resting on a siding.
00:52He was very tired.
00:54The big Express had been late.
00:57He was just going to sleep when Thomas came up in his cheeky way.
01:05Wake up lazy bones!
01:08Do some odd work for a change.
01:13You can't catch me!
01:16And he ran off laughing.
01:19of going to sleep again, Gordon thought how he could pay Thomas out. One morning, Thomas
01:27wouldn't wake up. It was nearly time for the express. The people were waiting, but
01:32the coaches weren't ready. At last, Thomas started. Oh, dear. Oh, sure. The coaches were
01:44very impatient. Come on, hurry up, hurry up. We'll be late. Thomas gave them a rude bump.
01:53Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh. And started for the station. Shhh, shhh, shhh, shhh, shhh,
02:03shhh. Come on, stop dawdling, stop dawdling. The coaches were now very cross. Where have
02:11you been? Where have you been? Thomas fussed into the station, and Gordon said,
02:19whistling. Hurry up, you. Shhh, shhh, shhh, shhh. Hurry up yourself. Don't worry. I will. And
02:31almost before the coaches had stopped moving, Gordon came out of his siding and was coupled
02:37to the train. Come on, get in quickly, please. So the people got in quickly. The signal went
02:47down. The clock struck the hour. The guard waved his green flag, and Gordon was ready to
02:54start. Thomas usually pushed behind the big trains to help them start. But he was always
03:00uncoupled first, so that when the train was running nicely, he could stop and go back.
03:07This time, he was late, and Gordon started so quickly that they forgot to uncouple Thomas.
03:14The heavy train slowly began to move out of the station. Gordon grunted at the coaches.
03:26Come on, shhh. Come on, shhh. Thomas teased Gordon. Pull harder. Pull harder. Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha.
03:39The train went faster and faster. Too fast for Thomas. He wanted to stop, but he couldn't.
03:47Shhh, shhh, shhh. Stop, stop. I can't keep up. You're going too fast. Gordon laughed.
03:55Faster, faster, faster, faster
04:02And the coaches chuckled with glee
04:06You can't get away, you can't get away, you can't get away, you can't get away
04:11Poor Thomas was going faster than he'd ever been before
04:17He was out of breath and his wheels hurt him
04:20But he had to go on and on and on
04:22Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear, oh dear, oh dear, oh dear, oh dear, oh dear
04:26I shall never be the same again, I shall never be the same again
04:30Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear, oh dear, oh dear, oh dear
04:32My wheels will be quite worn out
04:34At last they stopped
04:36Everyone laughed to see Thomas puffing and panting behind
04:41Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear, oh dear, oh dear
04:44They uncoupled him and he ran onto a siding out of the way
04:49Gordon chuckled as he passed
04:52Well, little Thomas, now you know what hard work means, don't you?
05:00Poor Thomas couldn't answer
05:02He had no breath
05:04He just puffed slowly away to rest
05:08And he had a long, long drink
05:16And he was careful afterwards
05:24Never to be cheeky to Gordon again
05:27All right, what's wrong?
05:28He was going to say that, Dino fighting
05:28And he was going to say that, Dino what did you say?
05:29To be honest, okay, what do you say?
05:30I was going to say, oh dear, oh dear, oh dear, oh dear
