being gay was bad and it was a sin and, you know, I suppressed all of that and that was

really rough, not being able to experience those things that all your other friends are

When you first date, your first kiss, like, it should have happened, like, a long time

I couldn't even say the word gay at that point because I was so afraid.

Churches must be a place where you can really be yourself and process things, but more often

than not, it becomes a place where it's oppressive.

I feel like these days I'm undoing a lot of the things that were kind of bred into me

since birth, and I'm kind of redefining and relearning what it means to live life and

the things that I was taught.

I still believe in God, but I think my definition of God is a lot different than from when I

I think God is so much bigger and so much more incredible than we give him, her, credit for.

So, home is about finding your family, finding the place that you call home.

For me, it's finding a record label, Feel Good Music, where they accept me for me and

I think it's interesting because they've never had an openly gay person in there.

I mean, all those unique things that make us different, whether it be your skin color,

whether it be the way you speak, whether it be the way you dress or the way you think

I think it's something to be celebrated.
