The first color film adaptation of Alice in Wonderland was made in 1949. It was a mix of live-action and stop-motion animation, as well as a French/American production so the film was filmed in both French and English. Lou Bunin produced it and directed the stop-motion animation. Marc Maurette directed the live-action sequences in the French version of the film. Carol Marsh starred as Alice.
