00:00Hey everybody, this update video is going to be unscripted because, simply put, I'm tired, so let's just get it over with.
00:07Starting with the bad news, you might have noticed something about the video output for this year.
00:12Aside from the live streams, that is.
00:14Three of those were simply update videos, and one of those was merely a joke update.
00:21As one can imagine, that was not the intended plan at the start of this year.
00:26As for things going awry, that would be mainly due to IRL stuff.
00:31More specifically, one word.
00:34Jobs.
00:35To be more specific, I originally planned on my next plush video series, Combifon, to have its first episode be released in the spring of 2023.
00:44However, I ended up working a seasonal second job around that time, necessitating a delay.
00:50Not long after that seasonal second job came to a close, I ended up getting laid off from my main day job, which required another delay for Combifon while I searched for work.
01:01Which brings us to now, where the status of this plush video series is that, it'll be released when it's ready.
01:08I have very recently started working a new day job, but with that comes another caveat, as due to the varying work schedule I now have, the weekend streams I usually do will no longer be at just Saturday nights at 8 o'clock p.m. Eastern Standard Time, and will instead be much more varied on either Friday, Saturday, or Sunday evening, most likely at around 6 o'clock p.m. Eastern Standard Time.
01:35At least for the foreseeable future.
01:37But don't worry, it's not all doom and gloom, as I do have some big plans for 2026, and it doesn't just relate to Combifon, as I have two major technical goals for that year as well.
01:49The first is shifting over from Windows 11, which is my current operating system, to a Linux distro.
01:57Most likely Bazite or Ubuntu, but my final choice has obviously not been made yet.
02:03Speaking of Linux, my second big technical goal of 2026 is to switch my main video editing software from Movavi Video Suite to DaVinci Resolve, as the latter does run natively on Linux.
02:17Although, as the thumbnail of this video somewhat shows, I am aware of Valve's Proton compatibility layer, which I am very excited for and makes me want to switch over to Linux more, since with Linux, I don't have to deal with any damn Windows bloatware.
02:31Finally, I will say this.
02:34The next update video I release will include some kind of official teaser trailer, or something of the like, for Combifon.
