I was raised on a farm in Kentucky, but moved with mom to Sullivan's Island, SC in my teens. I got into surfing, which fed my passion for meteorology/oceanography. I spent a full career with NOAA, based in Hawaii 1987 to the present. I am now retired. I like to make parodies of my favorite songs of the 60s and 70s, played on ukulele/harmonica.
