The Lyoness Cashback Card is used widely throughout Europe, and is gaining more and more acceptance around the globe. The Lyoness programmes are now available in more than 40 countries, spanning several different continents. The idea for Lyoness has simple origins. Hubert Freidl founded the company, wanting to create a community in which members could benefit from increased purchasing power together. He thought of the idea for Lyoness while standing in line to purchase furniture and inquiring as to how he could get the best discount possible.
When the cashier informed Hubert that a bigger purchase would earn a bigger discount, he considered how to get friends and family together to make purchases and secure better deals. Thus, Lyoness was established shortly thereafter in 2003. In addition to helping merchants build up a loyal membership base, and to helping members receive the best deals possible, Lyoness also gives back to the global community through the Child & Family Foundation, and the Greenfinity Foundation, which sponsor charitable programmes around the world.
