Takoradi Football was established and founded in 2009 by Mr. Kim Grant, a former International for Ghana & professional football player; although the club has very little history, it aims to create one of its own. The football club and Academy is formed to honour his grandfather Paa Grant & Arthur Wharton a direct descendant to the first world black professional football player, for their dedication and work ethic helping bring freedom and independence to all Ghanaians from colonial rule till 1957.

GEORGE (PAA) ALFRED GRANT was the moses of Ghana politics because he did not live to see the promised land, which was the Independence he had struggled to attain. Our vision for F.C. Takoradi project is to develop new generation future talented professional football athletes.

Our goal is to achieve this by providing a high level experienced professional football coaching as well as having academic school education simultaneously as part of the soccer academy program; by promoting links into local junior football ensuring local progression and interest; by ensuring proper routes of progression for young players into F.C. TAKORADI team; by linking youth football to the national agenda for social inclusion and young people's health and fitness; by developing a web-based administrative and advertising medium which includes opportunities for young footballers to promote themselves.
